What is one thing you'd change to change the world ?

Have you ever asked this question ? Seriously ? Not just as a passing discussion but being truly concerned.  Or have you ever - at any point felt the need to change the world at all ?

Is the world fine the way it is ? Wars, Global Warming and the swindle of it, corruption, consumerism, crying trees, unhappy citizens, drug demands, religious fights, terrorism, extincting birds and animals, unstable economies, media controlled lifestyles, unloving neighborhoods and hostile families. World has been in crisis in all times, its just that crisis of our times is little more severe and little more different. Never before man had power to destroy the entire earth a thousand times.

So, if you relate to the problem - what is one thing you'd like to change about the world ? What is the root of all these problems ? What is that one thing that could perhaps change the future of our world ?

We write our future in our schools and colleges. The students today will be the leaders tomorrow. Nothing else effects our lifestyle, our today and tomorrow as much as education.

Have you seen a young child ? Have you observed, how happy, playful, intelligent and creative she is ?

Why all children are so loving, so cute, sweet and innocent in their childhood and slowly as they grow up they become cruel, insensitive, egoistic and dumb ?  What's happening in the formative years of the children ?

They are being educated. They are being educated to be violent, to accept wars, not to rebel but to conform, not to be different but be part of mass economy, not to love but to fear, not to be creative but to score.

If one thing that needs to be changed immediately with immense urgency - it is our education system. Current education system is an absolute failure and the evidences are everywhere. Current education system has produced an unhappy, non-creative and unintelligent but effective machine like race. Time has come when this education system Rests In Peace and a fundamentally different, new and better system is invented.

How do we device a new education system ?

Shall we follow attractive and bold idea of A.S. Neil's  "Free schooling"

Or

Shall we try Sir Ken Robinson's idea of including creativity as key component of education ?

Or

Shall we believe the idea of complete transformation of human mind through education as emphasized by J. Krishnamurti ?

Or

Shall we just leave behind schooling as Ivan Illich recommended ?

Or

Shall we follow Bertrand Russel, Maria Montessori, John Holt, Rudolf Steiner and other eminent personalities in education ?

There have been numerous views, dozens of systems and hundreds of different type of schools who have tried different things and experimented on the lives of our powerless children.

What shall we do ?

This is what this blog is about. Let us collaborate, innovate and rethink not only to completely displace the current ineffective education system but also to bring about solutions to the problems faced by parents, teacher and most importantly kids.
